Trishaw rides bring generations together

Cruising along at a comfortable pace in the fresh air with the wind in your hair. That’s the experience the team at the Drees & Sommer Cologne regional office want to give to seniors by supporting Cycling Without Age, an organization that offers them trishaw rides.

Cologne

Autumn 2020 and follow-up date

At least 1 day plus a monetary donation

In keeping with its motto ‘Everyone has the right to wind in their hair’, Cycling Without Age offers trishaw rides to residents of retirement and aged care homes. The volunteer trishaw drivers take passengers on trips from about 30 different locations. Conversation is encouraged during the ride to promote intergenerational exchange.

The Drees & Sommer regional office in Cologne is making a monetary donation to the newly founded chapter in their city. But more importantly, the team members will also push the pedals: After being trained by one of Cycling Without Age’s experienced trishaw captains, they will offer seniors a joyride during a campaign launch day in autumn 2020. The goal is to find colleagues who are interested in regular exchange between young and old, and who will occasionally act as a trishaw pilot.

“Helping combat the loneliness that seniors experience is more important than ever! We look forward to bringing a smile to the faces of many older citizens during our trishaw rides.”
